Mark Vaughan, M.D.

Doctor Mark Vaughan has been practicing in Placer County since 1999.  He started immediately upon his return to Auburn, California, after completing Emergency Medicine Residency.  He is the founder of the Auburn Medical Group and has served as the Medical Director of this Family Medicine practice since 2005.  He has also served on the Sutter Independent Physicians Board of Directors since 2018.  Some of his podcasts and videos can be found at auburnmedicalgroup.com, medicallyspeakingradio.com, and on YouTube. G. Gawayne Vaughan, M.D.

Doctor Gawayne Vaughan grew up in Placer County and graduated from Placer High School.  He completed his Family Medicine Residency in 2011 after serving a year as Chief Resident.  He is excited to be back in Auburn to practice a full spectrum of Family Medicine, seeing patients of all ages.  He writes inspirational medical articles on the Dr. GreenKnight blog.

Reena Patel, PA-C

Reena received her PA training through the University of Texas, Pan-American.  She moved to Placer County from Houston, Texas.  She treats patients of all ages and is currently taking new patients.

Jennifer Cochrane, PA-C

Jennifer grew up in Placer County and graduated from Del Oro High School.  She completed the UC Davis Physician Assistant program in 2009.  Prior to that, she studied Exercise Science/Kinesiology receiving her BA in 2003.
After 6 years of Urgent Care, she looks forward to returning to her home community, providing community education & seeing patients of all ages.

Frances Patmon, FNP

Frances Patmon is a family nurse practitioner with experience as a registered nurse in emergency medicine and as a case manager for patients with Congestive Heart Failure.  She has a PhD from the University of California Davis.  In addition to working at Auburn Medical Group, she also specializes in research focusing on patient experience and innovative technology.  She comes to primary care with a desire to treat patients of all ages but focusing specifically on the older adult population.
